Time flies when you’re having fun!

So much has been going on recently that I almost forgot what time of the year it was! My 1-year Etsy-versary is coming up on the 26th {less than a week away!}.  So I’ve been trying to think of something special to do to thank all of you for your continued support. I think some kind of giveaway is in order for next weekend to celebrate! So be on the look out for more details on that very very soon. :]

{The joys of moving…}

So many changes are happening here within the next few weeks. Some good, some very good, some are a bit nerve-wracking. I just keep thinking to myself that it is all steps in the right direction. :]

Things are definitely crazy around here on the home front. We are in the final weeks of selling our condo and moving into a much smaller temporary living space until we are able to find our perfect home, as we haven’t found anything we truly love in the area. It is certainly stressful, but we both know this is the right decision and even though it will be hard at first, everything will work out in the end and be ten million times better! Positive thoughts!! Keep ’em flowing!

So with that being said, our condo is a complete mess of boxes and packing materials. I don’t even know where to start on my craft area. I’m afraid to pack it up because it will make processing orders very difficult, but I know I have to do it eventually. I’m trying to make it one of the last things I pack here and one of the first things to unpack when we move in to our new place. The shop is finally picking up with consistent sales and I don’t want anything to happen to wreck that! But unfortunately I will have to put a hold on things while we’re moving. It’s the joys of it all. I will certainly post an announcement in the shop when that is going to happen. ;]

On a side note, today was my last day ever of having to work in a big box retail store. All I can say is when I walked out those doors at the end of my shift, it was like a giant weight was lifted off of my shoulders. I will be working more days at my job at the doctor’s office and I couldn’t be happier with that. Everything is slowly starting to fall into place.

Those are just a few of the things, but they are the most substantial to us. I’m really trying to write on here at least once or twice a week, so I truly appreciate your patience with this, as its going to be a very hectic next couple of weeks.

Love you all and thank you for reading! :]

New Line of Keychains in the Shop

I know its been awhile, and I do deeply apologize. I’ve been having technical difficulties with almost all of my electronics so its been keeping me from updating much of anything. I’m still waiting on my laptop to be up and functioning again, but I’m almost there. I’ve been living off my phone for my twitter updates and even my shop updates. So I’m hoping to have my computer back up and running soon!

I just wanted to show those of you who haven’t seen it yet, a new line that I introduced into the shop not too long ago. I have begun stamping out aluminum keychains with various quotes and wording. They’ve become an instant hit and I couldn’t be happier! It’s always a good thing when people like what they see! I will share with you a few of them and you can take a look at the rest in my shop.

If you like what you see and also if there are any specific quotes that you want to see on a keychain, please feel free to message me and let me know and I would love to do a custom order for you. I’m always up for new and interesting ideas.

All aluminum keychains are 1100 Pure Aluminum so they won’t cause skin reactions and are also food safe { not that you would eat off of your keychains or anything… ;) }

These make excellent gifts as well. If you want it personalized, I can stamp on the back on certain ones, so definitely message me about it if that is something you would like.

If you’re looking for something a little bit more unique, take a look at my latitude and longitude keychain. This is the perfect wedding or anniversary gift, or even a ‘just because’ gift. On the sides of the copper square disc I stamp the latitude and longitude of a special place of your choosing. It can be where you met your special someone, where you got married, your first home, the skies the limit! On this particular sample I have in the photo I actually made as an anniversary gift to my husband. It is the coordinates of Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios { Known to us as MGM now and always }  in Walt Disney World. It is where we met while we were both working there during our College Program. It will always be someplace to special to us and I wanted to give him something that reminded him of me. {Insert ‘Awwww’ here} So like I said, this is a great gift for that special someone who you want to commemorate a special place or occasion. I can also stamp any wording in the center and along the bottom.

I hope you like my new line of hand stamped items. I’m really happy with how everything is turning out and again thank you so much to everyone who has been supporting me on this. I’m doing something that I love and I couldn’t be happier.

Til next time!

Blog Revamp

I spent a little time last night and actually revamped my blog a bit. It’s still not completely finished, but it looks a whole lot better than it did. I’m still going to be doing a little bit of tweaking here and there, but it’s definitely looking good.

I just wanted to share the updates. Let me know what you guys think! :)

Our first experience at the Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market

Our first day at the flea market was a success! We had a great time and it was a lot of fun. It was definitely a learning experience and we look forward to doing it again. We hope you join us!

6am fog...I took some photos of our tables before the flea market started. It was a very very early morning for us. We got to the field at 5am and there such a heavy fog it was crazy. You can see it a bit in the background if the first shot. Luckily it lifted by 6:30am when people started rolling in.

treasure chest of earringsI was trying to go for a shabby chic look to my table. I know it needs a lot of work, but it was my first time and I’m still gathering everything I need. I promise it will be better next time!!

Here are a few more close up shots of my table. I got the magnet board from a wonderful vendor at the Elephants Trunk who finds create vintage items and repurposes them. I’ve purchased items from her before, and I just love her style. She used a vintage frame and created a wonderful chalk board that is perfect for my magnets. :)

Here’s a few more treasures to look at it. I tried getting as many close-ups as I could but I wanted to be able to show everything. Let me know what you think!!

Magnets, pendants, and bobby pin sets

My hubby! And not to be left out, Bil also had a table! He was selling some original Nintendo games and Nintendo Systems as well that he replaced the 72-pin connectors in so they work like new! He blew through his collection of games and all the systems while we were there, so that was fantastic. He made for great company and I’m really glad he wanted to sell with me. His batch of Nintendo items

We had a really great time though and we did better than we had hoped to do. We’re thinking of doing it once or twice a month to give us time to stock up inventory in between. So we’ll be sure to let you all know when we’ll be doing it again! Thank you to those who stopped by, it was great seeing you all!

Finally Attaining One of My Goals…

Elephants Trunk Flea MarketI am so excited! As many of you know my goal this summer was to start selling at craft fairs/flea markets, and I’m finally going to hit that goal. This Sunday, Bil and I are going to be selling at the Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market in New Milford, CT. For those who have never been{or heard of} this flea market, its one of the largest outdoor flea markets in the area. It’s roughly 60% antiques and then a mix of new, handmade, tag sale items, plants, flowers, food, and whatever else you can think of.

An old school desk and Yankee memorabilia at the ET Flea Market

Bil and I go every Sunday to the ET Flea to stroll around and look at all the really cool antiques, dreaming about one day owning a rustic home which we can fill with great vintage finds. Someday that will happen! Either way though, it’s a really nice way to spend a Sunday morning.

So if you’re in the area this coming Sunday, come down and see us! The flea market runs from 7am til 2pm and its $2 per person with free parking. Its located on Rt 7 in New Milford, its hard to miss it! Its going to be a beautiful day on Sunday, so be sure to stop by! I’ll be sure to post on Twitter and Facebook as to our exact location on the grounds for those who want to stop by and say hello. :)

xo, Sarah

P.S. I will also love you forever if you bring me coffee. Possibly a venti nonfat iced caramel macchiato with two splenda? Maybe? ;)

Little Clay Houses and Fun Trinkets from the Little Red Door

About a month ago I entered a contest on Twitter to win a lip balm from this cute little etsy shop, The Little Red Door. I actually happened to win one, which I was ecstatic about since I never win anything. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I received the cutest package in the mail. Not only was it the lip balm, there were also tiny trinkets inside. They were so fun and quirky, it was great! I have them on my bulletin board and they definitely make my smile every time I see them.

So this leads me to the reason of this post! The Little Red Door was having a special a couple weeks ago where the 1400th sale got extra little houses and what not. So I decided then was the best time to start my collection of little clay houses, and am I glad I did!

Gift Package from Little Red Door

I received the best package of fun and quirky items. I absolutely love it! I included some photos so you can see everything. The clay houses are perfect, and I can’t wait to get more! In the package I received was also a canvas tote bag, a mug, hair clips, tiny houses, little mini erasers, some candy, and a note. It was so sweet and I loved it. So a big thank you to Toni over at The Little Red Door, it is always a wonderful experience working with you!

I absolutely recommend you to check out her etsy shop and definitely follow her on Twitter, @littlereddoor

Here’s the beginning of my little clay house collection. You should start yours today!

Little Clay Houses from the Little Red Door

I unfortunately do not have a shelf in my craft room yet, so for now they are sitting on top of my corkboard. I love this board, I’ve included all of my little trinkets and business cards that I’ve received so far. I’m going to need another board soon! ;)

Definitely do yourself the favor though and check out her shop. You’ll find yourself wanting to start your own collection of little clay houses.

April Showers, Brings May Flowers

It’s finally feeling like spring time up here in the NorthEast. The daffodils and crocuses are blooming and the leaves are starting to bud on the trees. I love this time of year! We were blessed with a lovely 80 degree weather day on Monday, which was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I took advantage of our day off and went for a hike over at Terrywile Park here in town. We’ve never been, so we figured it would be a perfect time to go. It was wonderful being able to get outside and enjoy the fantastic weather and get some exercise to boot. We’re looking forward to going again, perhaps for a picnic. I’ll be sure to bring my camera next time too.

I have finally gotten around to putting together these super cute bobby pins that just scream ‘spring time!’ and I couldn’t love them more! Here’s to hoping we’ll get more days like this past Monday! ;)

Knitting, knitting, and more knitting..

Wow, it’s been a while. I really need to get better at this whole blogging thing. Though I feel like I start off almost every blog that way, it is the truth.

So I picked up a new hobby, yay! I learned how to knit back in December, thanks to my Mom, who helped me start on a cowl. Well, I finally finished it last week. Let me start off by saying, this thing is gigantic. I don’t know why I’m such a horrible judge of size, but I had in my head it was much smaller. But once I casted off and actually looked at it off the needles, I realized I probably could’ve stopped awhile ago. Ah well, lesson learned. It’s still super soft and snuggly and I still love it, it’s just really big. It’ll be good to have next winter when the bitter temperatures start rolling in. As for now, we’re hoping to go full steam ahead to warmer spring temperatures here in the NorthEast!

So that brings me to my next project. I have thrown myself into this whole knitting thing, and I found some great patterns. I actually started working on a tiny baby pod to be used in newborn photography. {No, it is not for me, so please don’t start inquiring or jumping to conclusions. ;)} It’s a really pretty chocolaty brown shade in a more bulky yarn, so there’s a lot of texture in it. I’m hoping to have it finished next week, so we’ll see. That is my goal now; to work on smaller projects so I can have more of a variety instead of dragging out one big project that will take me months to finish. I get bored easily, so that’s never a good idea.

That’s about all I have for now. I want to get back to more knitting before I have to head into work. I’ll be sure to post photos of my finished projects soon.
